Touching Lives for God’s Glory
Missions and outreach is the heart of all that we do. Our Lord calls us to carry the gospel into both our community and the farthest reaches of our world. Through community service, feeding the hungry, mission trips, and the giving of our time and offerings, we seek to fulfill this high calling.
In addition to church-sponsored initiatives, we also partner with several community groups, along with the Shenandoah Baptist Association (SBA), the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV), and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship (CBF) to change lives and impact our world.
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25: 37-40)
In Our Community
Each spring, nearly 100 church members come together to help those in our local community
Acts of love change each year based on the needs of our neighbors. Teams have done yard work, home repair, housecleaning, car safety checks, litter pick-up, visits to local nursing homes, cupcakes for our community service personnel (fire, rescue, police, postal workers) and more.
Feeding the Hungry
Along with collecting regular donations for FISH of Clarke County (our local food bank), church members donate macaroni and cheese bowls to the Community Backpack Program for Clarke County school children, and collect and deliver Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets for those in need.
The Salvation Army
On the fourth Saturday of each month teams from Berryville Baptist Church prepare and serve brunch at the Salvation Army in Winchester.
Each January, we join the Clarke County Ministerial Association in providing food and shelter for the homeless through the Winchester Area Temporary Thermal Shelter.
Soul-ful Community Dinners
In cooperation with other local churches, Berryville Baptist prepares and serves a free meal at Duncan Memorial Methodist Church during the month of April.
All are welcome for a time of great food and fellowship. Dinners are served on the last Thursday of each month from 5:15-6:30pm.
Red Wagon Missions
Each month our church collects diapers, baby wipes, and coupons for clients of the Department of Social Services.
Vacation Bible Study
Every summer, members of the Berryville Baptist Rascals take Vacation Bible Study out of the church and into local neighborhoods sharing Bible truths and God’s amazing love for each one of us.
Celebrating the Elderly
Each month members of our church visit local nursing homes to sing old fashion hymns, contemporary Christian music, and to play Music Bingo.
Keepers of the Spring
Organized and hosted by Berryville Baptist Church, Keepers of the Spring provides acts of loving encouragement, comfort and sympathy for the distressed in our church and community. They meet the third Monday of each month.
Migrant Care Bags
Alongside other churches in the Shenandoah Valley, members of our congregation fill bags with personal care items which are distributed to arriving migrant workers.
Around the World
Each year members of the Berryville Baptist Church and the Berryville Baptist Rascals travel outside of the area to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We have traveled from Indiana to Tennessee and from Africa to Puerto Rico.
Be sure to view our Ministries where you can learn more about the Berryville Baptist Rascals.
Fighting World Hunger
Each November, we collect pocket change for two weeks using banks in the shape of bread loaves. This money is then donated through the Baptist General Assembly of Virginia to fight world hunger.
Operation Christmas Child
Each October/November, in coordination with Samaritan’s Purse International Relief, our congregation fills dozens of shoe boxes with toys, gifts, school supplies, toiletries, and notes of encouragement for children in need all over the world.
Berryville Baptist Church supports state, national, and international missions work through the Shenandoah Baptist Association, the Baptist General Association of Virginia and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
