Ministries at Berryville Baptist
Connecting ~ Learning ~ Growing
Christian education provides a biblical foundation and the skills needed to live as an effective disciple. Along with Sunday school, our church provides a number of special learning opportunities throughout the year.
Children
Sunday School Classes
Sunday School meets every Sunday at 9:00 am in the downstairs classroom in the Education Wing.
Children build a firm foundation from Bible stories found in both the Old and New Testament.
Children’s Time
On the 4th Sunday of every month, Berryville Baptist has Children’s Time in the sanctuary at 10:00 am. Children are to meet in their classrooms and head to the sanctuary as a class.
Special Events
Throughout the year, children are invited to participate in special events ranging from Easter Egg Hunts, Christmas Plays, holiday parties, and more.
Youth
Sunday School Classes
Sunday School classes meet every Sunday at 9:00 am in the upstairs classroom in the Education Wing.
Students learn about Jesus and the gospel in age-appropriate ways as they journey through the Bible and see God’s amazing love for them.
Elementary students are taught by Lynn Stanley.
High School students are taught by Joan Houck.
Special Events
Throughout the year, students participate in, plan, and lead special holiday events as well as Children’s Church.
Puppet Ministry
The Berryville Baptist Rascals, for grades 6-12, share the Gospel through puppets, music, skits, and Bible stories.
The team presents programs centered around a wide range of music including contemporary Christian, kids songs, country, and rock-and-roll. Each skit shares a positive message focusing on Christian values and kindness.
Members of the Baptist Rascals learn about Christian outreach as they open their hearts to other children and families with a message of God’s unconditional love.
Teams have traveled across Virginia and from Indiana to Tennessee and from Africa to Puerto Rico.
All are invited to join. We welcome any community member, no matter what their church affiliation.
The group practices the first and last Sunday of each month from 3:00-5:00 pm. They have two major Christmas programs in December and multiple outreaches during the year.
Adult Education
We offer many opportunities for adult learning.
Sunday School Classes
We have two adult Sunday School classes. One meets in an upstairs classroom while the other meets downstairs in the Fellowship Hall. Guests are welcome to attend either one. Sunday School meets every Sunday at 9:00 am.
Wednesday Night Bible Study
In addition, each Wednesday night at 6:30 pm we have a Prayer Meeting followed by a Bible Study class.
Family Connections
At 6:00 pm on the fourth Sunday evening of every month, small groups gather in members’ homes for a deeper time of worship, prayer, and fellowship.
Music Ministry
Adult Choir
For those musically gifted, Berryville Baptist has an adult choir which practices regularly on Wednesday nights at 7:30 pm.
For the past several years the Berryville Baptist Choir has also participated in Clarke County Church Sings. These are community wide events that benefit the Stone’s Chapel Memorial Foundation.
Handbell Choir
Voices in Brass, our handbell choir, is one of the joys of our music ministry. Practice is on Wednesday evenings at 6:15 pm.
Anyone ages 5th grade to adults may join, regardless of their church affiliation. For more information contact Renée Weir.
